Matcha Desserts of Nakamura Tokichi

Matcha is now very popular worldwide.

Matcha was not so popular when I was a little child like nowadays.
It was something mainly elderly people enjoy and used only in a special occasion such as tea ceremony.
So Matcha was something we don’t see much in daily life.

Things have changed a lot!

Now I can see Matcha everywhere.
Not only tea of Matcha but in snack, sweets, even in cuisine.

I often wonder why Match became so popular suddenly.

What was the trigger?

Anyway I also like Matcha so I introduce very popular Matcha cafe in Tokyo in which you can enjoy delicious Matcha dessert as well!!

Hokuksai Sabou is very famous cafe for its shaved ice.

Yes, shaved ice but you can also enjoy Matcha desserts such as Matcha parfait, Matcha red bean soup (Matcha Zenzai), etc.

Great point of this cafe is you can enjoy sweets in a traditional Japanese style house.
So you can feel Japan in the old days.

The owner became pupil of Japanese confectionery chef and learned how to make in Kyoto before opening this cafe.
He sticks on the fine ingredients and focus on hand-made.

For Matcha parfait, expensive Azuki beans called Tanba Dainagon Kasuga is used with Uji Matcha from Kyoto.

If you are hungry, no worries there are also lunch and dinner menu.

In summer or on holiday, you might see very long line for its shaved ice.
