Christmas comes closer now, doesn’t it.
Christmas is also one of the big events here in Japan.
This time I visited 7 popular Christmas illumination spots in Tokyo.

There were even illumination of Beauty and the Beast and Final Fantasy.

They were all beautiful!

Ebisu Garden Place Winter Illuminations 2017 (Ebisu Station)

Ebisu is famous station for Ebisu beer.
It is a selected quality beer.
There you can find Ebisu Garden Place.
It is about 5 minutes walk from Ebisu station.

The them of the Christmas illumination is “Baccarat ETERNAL LIGHTS -Yorokobi no Katachi-”

On arriving Ebisu Garden Place, what I could see was this Christmas tree.
It was about 10 meters and there were also some stores around it which sell Christmas goods and sweets.

You can also enjoy blue lights on the trees on the back side of the Ebisu Garden Place.

It was beautiful!
Good point of this Ebisu Garden Place Winter Illuminations is the period of illumination is long.
You can enjoy this special illumination until the beginning of January next year.

Blue Cave Shibuya 2017 (Shibuya Station)

Now I moved to Shibuya station.
You can enjoy Christmas illumination right in front of Shibuya station Hachiko exit.

But main spot of Christmas illumination in Shibuya is Blue Cave.
It is about 5 minutes walk from Shibuya station Hachiko exit.

800 meter-long street between Shibuya Park Street and Yoyogi Park Zelkova tree-lined Street is illuminated with beautiful blue lights.

It is like coming through tunnel or cave of blue lights especially at around Yoyogi park which doesn’t hold so much lights of town like Shibuya.

If you reach Yoyogi Park along the street, you can also buy special menu such as Blue Cave Bolognese at the food stall inside the park.

Tokyo Dome City Winter Lights Garden 2017 (Kourakuen Station)

Christmas illumination of Tokyo Dome City was so beautiful.
This is a kind of big project.

It is directed by spatial designer Kimi Hasegawa who also directed illumination of Omotesando, Ginze, etc. in Tokyo.
She also won gold prize by S.N.B.A. in France before.

That’s why this illumination is really organized and beautiful.

First I could see was this illumination.

So beautiful!

And I passed through the illumination to the top.

Found Ultraman somehow.

I went further and found Candy House and tree decorated with beautiful lights!
This Candy House is about 6 meters and looks like you can find real sweets and works made by patissier inside the house.

I went down.
Beautiful spheres were flowing.

Came to other part and found big Christmas trees decorated with various colors.

This spot is really recommended.
To my surprise, the period of the illumination is until 18 February next year.

MidTown Christmas Starlight Garden 2017 (Roppongi Station)

This Christmas illumination was also very beautiful.
The theme of the illumination is Space Travel.
So you can enjoy illumination and sound of space here.

Good point of it is each day has its own illumination.
If you visit on Sunday, you can enjoy illumination of Sun, for Monday, Moon, for Tuesday, Mars, etc.

The day I visited was Wednesday so I could enjoy illumination of Mercury.
It was good as I could enjoy beautiful blue lights of Mercury.

Marunouchi Illumination 2017 (Tokyo Station)

Without Christmas illumination, Tokyo station itself is beautiful at night.

If you go visit Christmas illumination spot of Tokyo station, you need to go to Marunouchi Naka Street.
It is 5 minutes walk from Tokyo station Marunouchi central exit.
Over 200 trees lining the street decorated with LED lights of Champagne Gold.

WHITE KITTE

I go inside building of KITTE, which is commercial facility and I could find big tree of snow.

This is the highest Christmas tree inside facility in Japan.
The height is 14.5 m.

Sad point is I could not show the beauty of it because of my poor photo skill so please enjoy it in the video I attached.

Marunouchi Bright Christmas 2017

Next I went inside Murunouchi Building and found this special Christmas tree.
This is designed and produced by flower artist Nicolai Bergmann.
Looks like 2017 is 15th anniversary of Maunouchi Building and 10th anniversary of Shin Marunouchi building.

My best recommendation is Tokyo Michi Terrace although I couldn’t cover it this time.
It is held only limited time of 24th to 28th December.
So I was a bit early to visit.
You can enjoy various colors of lights and flowers there.

Caretta Illumination 2017 (Shiodome Station)

I always say beautiful but this illumination was also really beautiful.
I could listen to the music of “Beauty and the Beast” and see blue lights.
And all the lights and candles changed its colors into various colors to the music.

It was so beautiful!

This was special illumination show of popular scene “Dancing of Bell and the Beast” from Beauty and the Beast.

You can enjoy this show every 15 minutes between 17:00 and 23:00 here.
After Beauty and Beast, I could also enjoy another special show and it was also great although I did not the theme of it.

This is also must-spot to visit in Christmas periode.

Shinjuku Terrace City Illumination 2017 (Shinjuku Station)

Shinjuku Mylord Mosaic Street

Many spots of Shinjuku station were illuminated with Christmas lights.
This time, first I visited Shinjuku Mylord Mosaic Street.
There I could enjoy Christmas lights along the street.

Shinjuku Minamirumi and FF Tweet March at Penguin Square

And next I moved to in front of the station.
This is New South exit.
This place was also beautiful!
Terrace and plants were decorated with neon lights.

This statue is Suica!
Suica is chargeable IC card of JR East.

But well, I have been listening aggressive sounds since some while ago.
They made a miss choice of music?
Calm music is better in this situation I think.

But when I listened to it carefully I noticed this is music of “Final Fantasy”!

Why now and here?

And next I found was Crystal!!

Somehow people were taking pictures behind my bag and I also turned around.
All the characters from 1st to XV of FF were marching on the side of the roof of Shinjuku station!!

Later I found this was collaboration event of JR East and Final Fantasy.
2017 is 30th anniversary of JR East and Final Fantasy.

That’s why!!

Each characters were saying each comments and looks like you can tweet any comments.
Some unique tweets made me laugh!!

Summary

It was great I could enjoy many Christmas spots.
I rarely see this kinds of illumination without purpose.

In Japan, I think most people, especially young people enjoy Christmas with boy friend or girl friend.
And couples enjoy Christmas illumination.

When I was a child my favorite point of Christmas was, of course, Christmas present and Christmas cake (Christmas cake might be only in Japan).

It might be a bit early but have a Merry Christmas!!
